Successful Therapy for Over 30 Years
As a psychologist, I invite people in.
To tell me what’s troubling them, then tell me what brings them joy. To ask me what I can do for them now, as well as tell me what’s worked for them in the past. To expose their vulnerabilities, to collaborate on finding their strengths. To present problems, to work with me on solutions. To tell me about feeling sad, depressed, anxious, frightened, angry, then talk with me about ways to better handle these feelings.

Appointments in Midtown NYC Office and Telehealth

I have been in practice for over 25 years. I work with individuals and couples, am trained in a number of approaches to therapy, and am certified as a sex therapist by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
People starting therapy are always looking for hope. I believe in helping you creatively pursue your goals and dreams at any age. That philosophy has always informed my work. Perhaps you are seeking a pleasurable new relationship or hoping to take a leap and make a career switch.
Perhaps you’ve had a secret dream you haven’t shared with anyone because of shyness or embarrassment – I’d like to hear all about it. I am interested in possibilities and potential. Along those lines, I recently wrote a film called SUGAR!, which tells the story of a mid-life woman who, against all odds, forms a rock band.
I have expertise in sex therapy and, depending on the problem, will work intensively with you either individually or as a couple. I’m also trained in couples therapy and marriage counseling: working with you as a couple is a powerful and very efficient way for me to intervene and insure change. I also diagnose and treat depression and anxiety syndromes and quickly focus on relieving your distress. Compulsive eating and issues around body image are also foremost in my work as they affect your health, self-esteem, and sexuality.
No matter what the issue, I will work collaboratively with you and frequently re-visit the goals we set together. Our main focus will be on increasing pleasure in your life.

How We Can Work Together
I received my masters in social work from Rutgers University, training intensively in couples, family, and sex therapy with leaders in each of these fields.
Subsequently, I obtained my doctorate in psychology, also at Rutgers University, studying both psychodynamic and behavioral approaches to psychotherapy. Furthermore, I have post-doctoral training in sex therapy and am certified in sex therapy by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
I’ve served as an adjunct faculty member at NYU Langone Medical Center, Department of Psychiatry, where I’ve supervised medical residents and independent clinicians in the NYU sex therapy training program.
I am licensed as a clinical psychologist by the State of New York.
I also maintain affiliations with peer supervisory groups and attend ongoing academic seminars and workshops, thus staying up-to-date in the field.
